Professeur au lyc\u00e9e, Kitagawa constate que nombre de ses \u00e9l\u00e8ves souffrent des s\u00e9quelles de la bombe atomique. Il entame alors une discussion avec eux. Face \u00e0 l\u2019ignorance et \u00e0 l\u2019indiff\u00e9rence des Japonais, et afin que les victimes ne soient pas contraintes de vivre dans l\u2019ombre de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, ils estiment n\u00e9cessaire que leurs compatriotes se rappellent ce jour si fatidique du 6 ao\u00fbt 1945\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avis&nbsp;:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Occident, le cin\u00e9ma des ann\u00e9es 1950 s\u2019est largement \u00e9panch\u00e9 sur le risque nucl\u00e9aire. Cela passe par des films d\u2019espionnage, faisant \u00e9cho \u00e0 la guerre froide, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 de nombreuses \u0153uvres de science-fiction telles que Le monde, la chair et le diable. Il est int\u00e9ressant de faire le rapprochement avec le cin\u00e9ma nippon qui n\u2019alerte pas sur pareille menace, mais exorcise le traumatisme d\u2019Hiroshima et de Nagasaki. Pour cette premi\u00e8re ville, on songe \u00e0 des m\u00e9trages embl\u00e9matiques, comme <strong>Les Enfants d\u2019Hiroshima<\/strong> de <em>Kaneto Shind\u014d<\/em> ou encore <strong>Hiroshima mon amour <\/strong>d\u2019<em>Alain Resnais<\/em>. Soit dit en passant, ce dernier fait \u00e9cho au pr\u00e9sent film \u00e0 travers des images directement issues et \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019<em>Eiji Okada<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5022035.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5022035.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62979\" width=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5022035.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg 992w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5022035.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5022035.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx-768x574.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 992px) 100vw, 992px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>En l\u2019occurrence, le personnage de cet acteur, le professeur Kitagawa, ne s\u2019avance pas comme le protagoniste ou m\u00eame le narrateur des \u00e9v\u00e8nements. Il se r\u00e9v\u00e8le le t\u00e9moin des cons\u00e9quences de la catastrophe \u00e0 travers les stigmates de l\u2019irradiation sur ses propres \u00e9l\u00e8ves. \u00c0 cet \u00e9gard, son incr\u00e9dulit\u00e9 renvoie \u00e0 la sid\u00e9ration des victimes. Dans le domaine du nucl\u00e9aire, les sympt\u00f4mes et les recherches m\u00e9dicales portant sur les effets sur le corps humain n\u2019en sont qu\u2019\u00e0 leurs balbutiements. Il y a donc un recul pragmatique, presque cynique, qui \u00e9mane de cette figure d\u2019autorit\u00e9. Par la m\u00eame, cette prise de conscience est d\u2019autant plus douloureuse qu\u2019elle ravive les cicatrices du pass\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019occasion est alors donn\u00e9e de revivre le 6 ao\u00fbt 1945 et les jours qui s\u2019ensuivent \u00e0 travers le point de vue des survivants. Ce flashback pour le moins cons\u00e9quent inaugure un esprit communautaire, certes aux accents nationalistes, mais qui traduit une certaine forme d\u2019insouciance. Cela peut para\u00eetre paradoxal \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que l\u2019effort de guerre demeure constant et la crainte de l\u2019ennemi vivace, sinon permanente. Preuve en est avec cette surveillance du ciel et une menace planante. Toujours est-il que la mise en contexte anesth\u00e9sie la vigilance des personnages et celle du spectateur. Ce qui renforce d\u2019autant plus le choc lorsque la bombe annihile Hiroshima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e8s lors, l\u2019\u00e9clair blanc pr\u00e9c\u00e8de \u00e0 une souffrance peu commune. Avec une froideur tout objective, la cam\u00e9ra s\u2019attarde sur le sort des victimes&nbsp;; de ce soldat qui tente de sauver sa femme des flammes \u00e0 ces enfants pi\u00e9g\u00e9s dans les ruines de leur \u00e9cole. Rarement, la violence des images a pu se montrer aussi percutante, implacable, \u00e0 la suite d\u2019un ravage total. En ce sens, les mouvements inconstants et les gestes vagues des survivants se font l\u2019\u00e9cho de leur d\u00e9tresse, de leur douleur. L\u00e0 encore, on constate une divergence entre l\u2019assimilation des masses \u00e0 une d\u00e9solation globale et une affliction individuelle. On revient alors \u00e0 ce soldat qui erre, \u00e0 la recherche de ses enfants, avant de succomber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On a souvent targu\u00e9 le film d\u2019<em>Hideo Sekigawa <\/em>de fresque anti-am\u00e9ricaine, justifiant par la m\u00eame l\u2019oubli du m\u00e9trage dans les contr\u00e9es occidentales. Pour autant, cette impression est inexacte, pour ne pas dire fallacieuse. Certes, le cin\u00e9aste pr\u00e9sente les faits sans langue de bois. Il fustige \u00e9galement l\u2019exploitation commerciale de la catastrophe \u00e0 travers un tourisme morbide, eu \u00e9gard aux d\u00e9rives capitalistes am\u00e9ricaines. Cependant, le r\u00e9alisateur n\u2019\u00e9pargne gu\u00e8re la politique du Japon. Il se veut d\u2019ailleurs plus sentencieux, car il d\u00e9montre la volont\u00e9 de mentir au peuple et cet aveuglement patriotique des militaires. \u00c0 ce titre, la sc\u00e8ne o\u00f9 un officier affubl\u00e9 de guenilles hurle \u00e0 tout-va en brandissant un drapeau en lambeaux demeure le symbole le plus explicite de cet \u00e9tat de fait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5039195.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5039195.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62978\" width=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5039195.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg 992w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5039195.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/5039195.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx-768x578.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 992px) 100vw, 992px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Au final, <strong>Hiroshima<\/strong> s\u2019avance comme une \u0153uvre implacable, d\u2019une duret\u00e9 qui conf\u00e8re au nihilisme dans le devenir des survivants. <em>Hideo Sekigawa<\/em> \u00e9voque autant les ravages imm\u00e9diats que les cons\u00e9quences \u00e0 moyen terme du largage de la bombe A. L\u2019image de ces pauvres h\u00e8res qui d\u00e9ambulent \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de morts-vivants (ce qu\u2019ils sont vraisemblablement) est d\u2019autant plus percutante qu\u2019elle s\u2019ancre dans un contexte historique. Le cin\u00e9aste expose \u00e9galement les errances patriotiques du gouvernement nippon et son aveuglement qui d\u00e9bouchent vers un cataclysme similaire \u00e0 Nagasaki, trois jours plus tard.
