Soutenu par le regard protecteur de sa fianc\u00e9e, sourde-muette comme lui, le jeune homme progresse, d&rsquo;apprentissages \u00e9prouvants en comp\u00e9titions harassantes, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que la mer les s\u00e9pare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avis&nbsp;:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En l\u2019espace de deux longs-m\u00e9trages, <em>Takeshi Kitano<\/em> s\u2019est impos\u00e9 comme un cin\u00e9aste singulier \u00e0 plus d\u2019un titre, qui n\u2019h\u00e9site pas \u00e0 multiplier les paradoxes et bousculer les a priori du public. Entre une violence incongrue, une narration totalement alambiqu\u00e9e, et des personnages iconoclastes, <strong>Violent Cop<\/strong> et <strong>Jugatsu<\/strong> sont de formidables pieds de nez aux conventions&nbsp;; qu\u2019elles soient cin\u00e9matographiques ou morales. Entre com\u00e9die dramatique et romance, ce troisi\u00e8me effort s\u2019immerge dans un quotidien morne, renvoyant \u00e0 la condition pr\u00e9caire du pompiste de <strong>Jugatsu<\/strong>. Le r\u00e9alisateur poursuit alors le cheminement de sa r\u00e9flexion sur la marginalit\u00e9 au sein de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 japonaise. Cela tient au statut social, \u00e0 la profession, mais aussi \u00e0 un \u00ab&nbsp;handicap&nbsp;\u00bb qui tend \u00e0 faire de la diff\u00e9rence un frein, une impossibilit\u00e9 d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 de plus hautes consid\u00e9rations. En l\u2019occurrence, elle se traduit par le fait que les deux protagonistes soient sourds-muets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette particularit\u00e9 pr\u00e9sente de nombreuses subtilit\u00e9s au sein de l\u2019intrigue. \u00c0 commencer par une incompr\u00e9hension mutuelle qui d\u00e9coule de rencontres fortuites. La moquerie des uns r\u00e9sonne de l\u2019impassibilit\u00e9 des principaux int\u00e9ress\u00e9s. On n\u2019entend gu\u00e8re les critiques et les r\u00e9serves de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Il \u00e9mane de leur comportement une tendresse \u00e9vidente, mais surtout une candeur qui ajoute une note pleine d\u2019insouciance, propre \u00e0 l\u2019enfance. <strong>A Scene at the Sea<\/strong> n\u2019est pas tant un film sur le surf que sur les relations de couple, l\u2019amiti\u00e9 ou l\u2019accomplissement d\u2019un r\u00eave. L\u00e0 encore, on distingue un onirisme explicite, soutenu par une r\u00e9alisation picturale \u00e0 souhait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela passe par un cadrage majoritairement fixe qui affiche un esth\u00e9tisme des plus soign\u00e9. Preuve en est avec les mouvements perp\u00e9tuels de l\u2019oc\u00e9an, le relief des vagues, les plages de sable noir de la c\u00f4te nippone ou encore des tenues \u00ab&nbsp;flashy&nbsp;\u00bb des protagonistes. Le jeu des contrastes se confronte \u00e0 une \u00e9pure particuli\u00e8rement repr\u00e9sentative du monde maritime et de la fascination que l\u2019on peut y porter. Comme pour ses autres r\u00e9alisations, <em>Takeshi Kitano<\/em> retranscrit une image brute, parfaitement coh\u00e9rente au vu de certaines occurrences improvis\u00e9es qu\u2019il se pla\u00eet \u00e0 ins\u00e9rer dans ses histoires et lors du tournage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De fait, la simple d\u00e9couverte visuelle du film pourrait se suffire \u00e0 elle-m\u00eame, offrant une exp\u00e9rience universelle pour tous les publics, y compris les personnes malentendantes. Dans ces conditions, les \u00e9changes sont circonspects, tandis que les rares dialogues font preuve de minimalisme. Malgr\u00e9 la pr\u00e9sence des plans fixes pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e9voqu\u00e9s, le montage se r\u00e9v\u00e8le fluide, instillant une rythmique \u00e0 double sens. \u00c0 l\u2019instar des vagues qui s\u2019\u00e9chouent sur le rivage, l\u2019\u00e9volution de l\u2019intrigue et des protagonistes suit un cheminement al\u00e9atoire, bien \u00e9loign\u00e9 de tout d\u00e9terminisme. La finalit\u00e9 a beau \u00eatre la m\u00eame, la progression diff\u00e8re selon les sentiments et les r\u00e9actions sur l\u2019instant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il en \u00e9mane une prise de conscience graduelle o\u00f9 le d\u00e9sir d\u2019\u00e9vasion se fait de plus en plus pr\u00e9gnant au regard des responsabilit\u00e9s du quotidien. Celles-ci s\u2019effacent avec l\u2019\u00e9tiquette sociale et le handicap, qui n\u2019est ni un atout ni une faiblesse. Juste une part int\u00e9grante des protagonistes qui parviennent \u00e0 s\u2019en affranchir. C\u2019est peut-\u00eatre sur ce point que le film touche et \u00e9meut son public. Savoir raconter une histoire sans artifice ni subterfuge, sans enclaver les individus dans des poncifs soci\u00e9taux absurdes. S\u2019il demeure un brillant cin\u00e9aste, on devine surtout l\u2019homme qui s\u2019exprime \u00e0 travers ce film. La continuit\u00e9 tient dans les th\u00e9matiques abord\u00e9es et les r\u00e9flexions qui en d\u00e9coulent&nbsp;; pas dans le genre ou l\u2019histoire d\u00e9peinte. Ici, la violence c\u00e8de la place \u00e0 une bienveillance gu\u00e8re simul\u00e9e. Le surf n\u2019est pas l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment central, mais le d\u00e9clencheur d\u2019une profonde envie d\u2019\u00e9vasion.
