Il d\u00e9cide de faire justice lui-m\u00eame quand il d\u00e9couvre qu\u2019un gang de yakuzas est responsable de la mort de son meilleur ami et du viol de sa jeune s\u0153ur. Aux prises avec sa hi\u00e9rarchie et le truand Kiyohiro, il ira jusqu\u2019au bout de sa vendetta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avis&nbsp;:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019instar de son homologue hongkongais, le polar nippon pr\u00e9sente un style tr\u00e8s codifi\u00e9 auquel on reste indiff\u00e9rent ou on adh\u00e8re sans r\u00e9serve. Le genre est \u00e0 l\u2019image du cin\u00e9ma japonais, bien trop souvent cantonn\u00e9 \u00e0 une frange de spectateurs avertis si l\u2019on constate son influence en dehors de ses fronti\u00e8res. Pourtant, d\u2019illustres metteurs en sc\u00e8ne, tels qu\u2019<em>Akira Kurosawa<\/em>, <em>Kenji Mizoguchi<\/em> ou <em>Yasujir\u014d Ozu<\/em>, sont parvenus \u00e0 magnifier des fresques empreintes de po\u00e9sie, de nostalgie et d\u2019un r\u00e9alisme poignant. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une distribution plus large, la fin des ann\u00e9es&nbsp;1980 marque une ouverture \u00e9vidente vers le march\u00e9 international.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/50544_backdrop_scale_1280xauto-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50826\" width=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/50544_backdrop_scale_1280xauto-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/50544_backdrop_scale_1280xauto-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/50544_backdrop_scale_1280xauto-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/50544_backdrop_scale_1280xauto.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela se confirme avec le d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re de deux cin\u00e9astes majeurs&nbsp;: le tr\u00e8s prolifique <em>Takaski Miike<\/em> et le non moins iconique <em>Takeshi Kitano<\/em>. Alors que ce dernier est pressenti pour tenir uniquement la t\u00eate d\u2019affiche du pr\u00e9sent m\u00e9trage, il passe \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un concours de circonstances. La d\u00e9fection de <em>Kinji Fukasaku<\/em> (<strong>Tora&nbsp;! Tora&nbsp;! Tora !<\/strong>, la saga <strong>Battle Royale<\/strong>\u2026) lui permet de diriger <strong>Violent Cop<\/strong>. Issu du monde de la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, o\u00f9 il multiplie les prestations comiques, <em>Takeshi Kitano<\/em> met le pied \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9trier dans des conditions de tournage gu\u00e8re optimales. Les modifications qu\u2019il apporte au script original d\u00e9montrent d\u00e9j\u00e0 son ind\u00e9pendance et un style \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019un \u00ab&nbsp;simple&nbsp;\u00bb polar, l\u2019homme marque un changement notable dans le paysage cin\u00e9matographique nippon. Certes, de nombreux films se distinguent par leur brutalit\u00e9. Seulement, il s\u2019agit tr\u00e8s rarement de productions \u00e0 l\u2019envergure internationale. Pour cela, il faut surtout se pencher sur des m\u00e9trages underground, au budget modeste et qui, en grande majorit\u00e9, ne sortent pas de leur pays d\u2019origine. <strong>Violent Cop<\/strong> n\u2019est pas forc\u00e9ment un pr\u00e9curseur, mais il s\u2019inscrit dans une mouvance innovante pour l\u2019\u00e9poque&nbsp;: celle d\u2019une violence d\u00e9brid\u00e9e et outranci\u00e8re qui sous-tend une nouvelle forme d\u2019expression derri\u00e8re et devant la cam\u00e9ra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n\u2019est pas tant les coups port\u00e9s qui interpellent, mais plut\u00f4t les m\u00e9thodes exp\u00e9ditives du protagoniste. <strong>Violent Cop<\/strong> n\u2019a pas pour vocation de d\u00e9noncer quelconques d\u00e9rives polici\u00e8res. Il n\u2019a pas non plus l\u2019ambition de les justifier. Le film, comme son metteur en sc\u00e8ne, se pose en tant que t\u00e9moin d\u2019un \u00e9tat de fait, gu\u00e8re symptomatique d\u2019une p\u00e9riode donn\u00e9e, mais d\u2019un comportement social r\u00e9current, pour ne pas dire inh\u00e9rent \u00e0 l\u2019humanit\u00e9. La morale est donc caduque puisque l\u2019intrigue se fait le reflet des consid\u00e9rations du spectateur. Pour cela, on distingue une absence totale d\u2019empathie, s\u2019appuyant sur des contradictions permanentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En d\u2019autres circonstances, la port\u00e9e \u00e9motionnelle sert \u00e0 orienter l\u2019avis du public, \u00e0 confirmer ou non son interpr\u00e9tation, ses valeurs. Avec <strong>Violent Cop<\/strong>, on a l\u2019impression que le sc\u00e9nario pr\u00e9texte s\u2019apparente \u00e0 une toile vierge. Il ne se d\u00e9gage pas de d\u00e9go\u00fbt ou de r\u00e9jouissances \u00e0 l\u2019exposition des empoignades. Juste un constat froid et d\u00e9l\u00e9t\u00e8re qui parfait le nihilisme ambiant. C\u2019est en cela que le cin\u00e9ma de <em>Takeshi Kitano<\/em> peut d\u00e9contenancer, au risque d\u2019un refus total de la part du spectateur. Bien que l\u2019approche soit singuli\u00e8re, elle pr\u00e9sente des forces \u00e9videntes afin de s\u2019\u00e9loigner des habituels carcans artistiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si le r\u00e9alisateur s\u2019insinue dans le polar en respectant ses poncifs, il triture la narration pour entrem\u00ealer contemplation et pr\u00e9cipitation. La circonspection presque permanente renvoie \u00e0 des joutes non verbales qui s\u2019appuient uniquement sur la pr\u00e9sence physique des protagonistes. Une tension palpable qui augure bien souvent d\u2019un affrontement. \u00c0 ce titre, les plans fixes sont l\u00e9gion, y compris dans des s\u00e9quences qui n\u00e9cessitent du mouvement. Face \u00e0 la passivit\u00e9 des adversaires, les combats s\u2019apparentent surtout \u00e0 des ex\u00e9cutions o\u00f9 le cadrage excentr\u00e9 privil\u00e9gie un angle rapproch\u00e9 sur l\u2019objet des coups, soit les pieds ou les poings. Il est plus rare que les bagarres d\u00e9montrent leur impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On d\u00e9note n\u00e9anmoins certaines faiblesses, que l\u2019on peut incomber aux conditions de production difficiles ou au manque d\u2019exp\u00e9rience propre \u00e0 une premi\u00e8re r\u00e9alisation. Comme \u00e9voqu\u00e9 pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment, le traitement implacable et d\u00e9nu\u00e9 de sentiments provoque un d\u00e9tachement vis-\u00e0-vis des protagonistes. L\u2019adjoint joue les faire-valoir, un rien na\u00eff, tandis que la s\u0153ur d\u2019Azuma aurait gagn\u00e9 \u00e0 une caract\u00e9risation plus fouill\u00e9e au vu de son r\u00f4le catalyseur au sein de l\u2019histoire. Un r\u00e9cit qui, au demeurant, fait preuve d\u2019un grand classicisme dans la lutte contre la p\u00e8gre, les flics corrompus et le trafic de drogues. Les remaniements sc\u00e9naristiques en cours de tournage sont explicites \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Violent_Cop-1024x565.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50825\" width=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Violent_Cop-1024x565.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Violent_Cop-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Violent_Cop-768x424.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lavisqteam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Violent_Cop.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Au final, <strong>Violent Cop<\/strong> s\u2019avance comme un polar sombre et dur qui fait s\u2019encha\u00eener les contrastes. Certaines s\u00e9quences brutales conf\u00e8rent \u00e0 des instants de volupt\u00e9, eu \u00e9gard \u00e0 la bande-son ou aux ralentis desdites s\u00e9quences. Mais les affrontements sont \u00e9galement sensitifs avec une hostilit\u00e9 qui transpara\u00eet dans les corps et les regards. Bien que l\u2019on d\u00e9note des scories d\u2019un point de vue formel (narration, caract\u00e9risation\u2026), <em>Takeshi Kitano<\/em> pose la premi\u00e8re pierre \u00e0 son \u0153uvre avec un style d\u00e9cal\u00e9 qui multiplie les contradictions graphiques et psychologiques. S\u2019il respecte le genre dans lequel il s\u2019insinue, le cin\u00e9aste s\u2019en affranchit par une tonalit\u00e9 contemplative inattendue, presque saugrenue en de telles circonstances.
